The launch of SOLOMAG - finally!
Just 3 years ago I was sitting on a dock in northern Ontario, drinking chardonnay and discussing my exit out of advertising with Natalie and Liz. One thing led to another, as they do, and one chardonnay led to another and with all the exchange of ideas with the girls I decided that if I could really do what I wanted with my life it would be to write an online magazine - possibly chronicling my single life or just sharing the ups and downs of it with fellow singles.
One thing has led to another again and as the years have gone by since that great week on the dock, the idea seemed smarter and stronger. So today I launched the first issue of Solomag online and it was such a thrill to see 3 years of dreaming, 3 years of collecting story ideas and several months of serious preparation finally come to fruition right on my my screen!
Oddly enough, there was nothing ‘solo’ about the launch of this dream of mine. The magazine has not only been a great outlet for my ideas and creativity, it has connected me with new and fascinating people. A whole new community has been built consisting of my great friends who have worked so hard to help me get to this point, and wonderful new friends who are all so innovative, intelligent and supportive of the idea. It has given me the resources to make it to this launch and the inspiration to do it even when my confidence faltered.
The launch of Solomag is the work of so many hands and I can’t wait to see where Solomag takes me next!
It’s quite a feeling to have a dream come true!
